The upcoming exhibition curated by Romartika Art Decoded will be a one of its kind show in history. Original works of masters like Rabindranath Tagore, Tyeb Mehta, V S Gaitonde, S H Raza will be displayed next to those of emerging artists of today.
The exhibition will be held at Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery, Pune during 14th to 20th May '24. The masters' artworks belong to the collection of Mr. Nitin Jadia who had been in this endeavor throughout his life. In fact, his journey as a collector is worth deep research. Saikat Baksi, an author and art connoisseur, is working on a book about how the affair of art collection happens in Indian context with the help of Mr. Jadia.
Also, during the show, as part of the art awareness initiative of Romartika Art Decoded, sessions will be conducted on various aspects of art by a few masters like Rabindra Nath Tagore, S H Raza, F N Souza and so on. The purpose would be to explain why such masters painted in a certain way driven by contexts of their lives in the corresponding socio-political ambit.
Live demonstrations by artists will also be organized.
It will be a unique forum for emerging artists too to be able to showcase their works next to the masters. Past and future will shake hands at Ravi Varma Art Gallery during this exhibition.
